Welcome to Wickham Common Primary School...
Welcome to Wickham Common Primary School’s new website, I trust that you will find it useful, easy to navigate and informative – giving a true sense of what this successful and family orientated school is all about.
I was delighted to join the school in September 2017 as the new Head Teacher, following in the footsteps of some highly acclaimed predecessors. This is my second Headship and I am proud and excited to be leading such a well-regarded and desirable centre of excellence in primary education.
We are a school rooted in the community of West Wickham whose pupils achieve well across the whole curriculum. Within a happy and caring atmosphere, we work in partnership with parents, staff and governors, to ensure that children succeed in all aspects of their learning.
Our vision for our pupils is for them to become ‘Successful Learners, Confident Individuals and Responsible Citizens’ during their time with us. In order to achieve this we deliver a well-planned curriculum that is inspiring, challenging and creative, and ensures children take an active part in their learning, developing their knowledge, skills and interests.
We value and promote independence, thoughtfulness and curiosity. We firmly believe that every child can achieve, so we support children’s confidence in their own unique abilities and encourage them to take pride in all their achievements.
Wickham Common Primary School is part of the Compass Academy Trust and as such enjoys a mutually inspirational partnership with three other local primary schools, namely Oak Lodge, Marian Vian and Unicorn. Each of these schools share a vision that all children will receive an outstanding education and be able to access a wide, rich and diverse curriculum and we help and support one another to provide just that for every child in our trust.
“Parents and Carers praised the school’s work and were overwhelmingly supportive of the school, confident their children are well looked after and effectively taught.” Ofsted 2018
