Easter Bunny Fun Run

Last Sunday we held our 2nd Easter Bunny Fun Run and we were delighted to see so many families turning up in their running gear ready for action! Our daily ‘Mile’ that the children participate in every day is clearly paying off – not only does it help with concentration and their sense of well-being – but on the track you can see their improving fitness, stamina and ability – brilliant! Military Fitness came and helped everyone to warm up safely, there were tattoos and an ECO stall, and refreshments included Quesadillas with heathy fillings as well as the old favourites such as hot dogs and hot chocolate! One of our ‘dad’s works for the British Lawn Tennis Association and came to run a tennis skills activity which was also very popular! We used our recyclable cups for water for our runners and encouraged everyone to bring along their ‘cups/mugs’. The whole event was a wonderful success with medals and prizes galore. Thank you so much to the organisers Suzy and Tammy – they did a superb job together with their army of volunteers and also another thank you to the staff who came along to help, encourage and participate … our very own Mrs Horton (PE Leader) came first in the adult race – so congratulations to her!

The money raised at this special ECO event will go towards an ECO project the school council and ECO team are spearheading which is all about eradicating the use of ‘single use plastic’ as much as we possibly can when in school. More about this after Easter.
