Day 1 – Marchant’s Hill PGL

We arrived (after a smooth and uneventful coach journey) and dropped off our bags before heading straight to the cricket field where we spent the afternoon sharing a picnic, playing football (a controversial Oak win), cricket and rounders amongst other activities.

After a while, our PGL team leaders greeted us and took us to our accommodation. The children were amazed at their rooms - ‘The pillows are softer than a Premier Inn’ was one of the comments.

Dinner was fantastic as usual, including some delicious doughnuts which didn’t last long, and then we finished our evening playing Wacky Races where the children were asked to be catwalk models, sumo wrestlers and sausages where Mrs Howard’s portrayal of a Cumberland was particularly powerful.

Now the children are in their PJs, getting settled, ready for an action packed day tomorrow. They have all been their usual brilliant selves and are very excited about what tomorrow will bring.
