Happy Christmas Everyone!
We made it – four months, 15 weeks, about 70ish days!
Loads of fun, successful sport (won almost everything we’ve participated in!), wonderful World Faith Week, informative parent and teacher meetings, demonstrations, the recruitment of our fantastic Reading Taskforce, trips galore – to London, Leeds and Lullingstone! Our lovely Reception children all settled in – we couldn’t imagine school without them! Lots of new and very popular clubs, loads of horrible parking issues, concerts, performances, trophies, tournaments, Jeans for Genes, Children in Need, Harvest Festival, ‘Phil-the-Bag’, new photo rule introduced, website being developed with many more images for parents to view (check it out today for Nativity and Concert). 5 Oak had ‘Fitness-In’ training, First Aiders course, tricky tests and lovely lessons, a few problems which have hopefully been sorted out successfully, engaging topics on Romans, castles, Ancient Greece & Egypt to name but a few. Open mornings for prospective new parents. The kids have been weighed, measured and vaccinated! We have trained our new Peer Mediator Team, as well as some trainee teachers! A circus came to town, we had the Christmas Fair of all fairs! We ate a full-on Christmas dinner together, ‘Tickled Pink’ came in and performed an interactive Panto with the whole school – everybody loved it! Last week Lower School performed their Nativity 3 times! On Monday evening we had the joy of watching the Upper School Christmas Concert, yesterday each class was allowed to watch a Christmas Movie and this morning, apart from celebrating everything we have done, the teachers put on a crazy, whacky ‘Christmas in Pantoland’ extravaganza!
